Welcome to the 2020 State Championship – Bondo Forest hosted by Tumut Endurance Riders 

 27-29 November 2020



Gather to the fray and come to Bondo Forest near Tumut for the 2020 NSW State Championships to test your hardy horses in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains


We are pleased to offer a 5 leg Championship and 2 leg 80km course travelling through both pine and native forests from the base camp at Bondo Forest Headquarters. The terrain will be undulating with some hills but no steep climbs and the footing is a mix of soft dirt tracks, firm graveled roads and a few very short rocky sections.


We anticipate to open entries in April – please watch this space and Facebook for all info!


Entry Fees

160km Senior - $400 including camping

160km Junior - $360 including camping

80km No Frills - $100 including camping

Late fee for entries after ?? - $100

There will also be a teams event so gather your mates and bring along $20 for entries.

-      Thursday 26 November

·         Ride Base opens: 12pm

-      Friday 27 November

·         Ride Office opens: 10am

·         Vetting opens: 12pm

·         Pre- Ride: 4pm

·         Dinner: 6pm

·         160km Championship Ride start: 12 am Midnight

-      Saturday 28 November

·         80km Ride start: 4am

·         80km Best Conditioned: approximately 12pm

·         80km course closes: 2.30pm

·         160km Championship Ride course closes: 12am Midnight

-      Sunday 29 November

·         Breakfast: 7:30am

·         160km Best Conditioned workouts: 8am

·         160km Presentation: 9:30am


House Keeping

Please note that there is no powered sites available and no mobile phone or internet coverage at the base camp.

Dogs are welcome but must be on leads at all times.

Fires will be allowed but need to be contained in a fire drum/pit


Catering this year will be proudly offered by Kylie Berg and our friends from the Spud Train – a menu will be available closer to the date on our Facebook page.


Several trade stands will be on site for the shopaholics and for any last minute supplies, as well as a Merchandise stall – full details on Facebook in due course!

Tumut is a 30 min drive from base with a full range of shops, fuel and supplies.

Directions to Ride Base

PLEASE NOTE - Do not follow GPS routes from Canberra via the Brindabella Valley. All participants are strongly advised to ONLY come via Tumut


Bondo State Forest Headquraters, Bombowlee Creek Road.

From Gocup Road (Gundagai):

Turn left from Gocup Road onto Snowy Mountains Highway.

After 600m turn left onto Wee Jasper Road.

After 2.7km turn right onto Bombowlee Creek Road.

After 30.1km the base will be on the right.

If coming into Tumut from Adelong, continue on Snowy Mountains Highway past the Riverglade Caravan Park and turn left onto Bombowlee Creek Road and follow the above directions.
